Converting your Films & Videos

At reelintime.com we offer an easy to use, secure and reliable service for the conversion of film (8mm and Super8) and video cassettes into digital format. After you have placed your order and sent your films or videos to us we convert them and upload them onto the site where you can choose to make them publically viewable in the Archive or place them in a Vault for exclusive access by family and friends.

Here’s how it works and what you have to do:

Step

What Happens

More Detail

1

Tell us about the films/videos you wish to have converted

Go to our easy to use online calculator. If you have other formats beside 8mm, Super8 and vhs do contact us for pricings at enquiries@reelintime.com

2

We calculate the price

The price you pay is calculated at the point of order and before you make any commitment. The price includes a DVD of all your films and videos. At this point you should also decide if you want your original films and videos returned. In all cases our high quality conversion process means that your DVD will offer improved viewing quality over your original footage. So you may not want your originals back. If you do, the recorded delivery charge will be added to your order. If you do not want your originals back we will retain for 3 months and dispose of them by an eco friendly process.

3

Make the Purchase

Make a secure payment via PayPal®. You will receive a reference number and a UK despatch address. Send your material to this address with your reference number. We recommend you send to us by recorded delivery or other form of secure mailing.

4

We convert your films to digital format

On receipt of your film we aim to convert within 10 working days. If it is going to take longer we will contact you.

5

Your converted films/video are uploaded as files to a secure area of the website.

Your now digitised material is uploaded to the reelintime.com website to your "Private Screening Room". This is an area accessible only to you. We will send you an e:mail when the film has been uploaded and is ready for viewing.

6

Select your now digitised material for the reelintime.com website.

Your material will appear in files of a maximum 10 minutes in length. (This is so that upload and download times for viewing do not become excessively long). So if you have a vhs 120 (minutes) converted it will appear as 12 files. (NB Our on-line calculator tells you how long your 8mm and Super8 films are according to their size.) This segmentation enables you to select if you want the whole content of the cassette on the website or only certain sections. You can also decide if you want to restrict viewing by putting your files in a Vault. Any files you do not wish to transfer to the reelintime.com Archive can be deleted here.

7

We send you a DVD(s) of all the converted material

You will receive a DVD(s) of all the converted material by first class post. If you have selected to have the original films returned, these will be sent by Recorded delivery.

See the Terms and Conditions of our conversion service.
